Tutorial - Coloring B&W photos for color splash icon
Programs - Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 (for most) but I used IrfanView 64 for resizing for icon usage. But resizing can be done in any program.
Level - Easy

Their is probably some that go over this on Livejournal or even here on Dreamwidth that I haven't found yet. But figured a step by step would be easier to follow then showing and saying. I am probably going to suck at explaining this, but will do the best I can. Their are a few ways to achieve color splash on a black but this is the quickest way I know how. You can also do this with a texture or a paint brush.
